**PEAK ENERGY ALERT / REMINDER **

During the very hottest days of summer - and during the very coldest days of winter - HED experiences “peak” energy events.  These events occur when

our customers are collectively consuming their highest levels of energy.  Summer peaks occur between the hours of 2 PM and 6 PM – and winter peaks occur between the hours of 5 PM and 9 PM.

HED’s costs for transmission and capacity are set during peak events, and those costs are a significant part of our annual operating budget.  Raising customer awareness that results in collectively reduced energy use during peaks will reduce HED’s costs.  These savings help with rate stability, and ultimately directly benefit our customers.

As we are coming into some of those hottest days of summer, HED wanted to get this reminder out to our customers.  If everyone can shut something off during a peak event, the positive effects will be enjoyed by all…and be good for the environment.

HED HOPES YOU ENJOY YOUR SUMMER!!!
