HED’s 2025 Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) Discussion

On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, general manager Sarah Braese joined the Greensboro Energy Climate & Action Committee (ECAC) to discuss HED’s 2025 Integrated Resource Plan (IRP).  In addition to discussing grid modernization, capital improvement projects, and energy resource planning, the presentation also included an overview of programs and services offered to HED customers including rebates and incentives.  You can view the presentation here.

Last Friday, March 27th, our office was closed for half of the day so our staff could participate in a training regarding the AMI metering we are gearing up to adopt into our system later on this year. AMI is a system that allows utilities and customers to exchange energy and usage data in real time. Manual meters that have to be read physically will be replaced with AMI meters where data is transmitted back and forth between platforms.
