New Payment Options

by | Sep 2, 2025 | News

Hardwick Electric is committed to working with our customers to make bill payments as effortless as possible, and in addition to existing payment options, new payment methods are now available beginning September 1, 2025.

New Payment Method:

Outside of regular business office hours, our Outage Line can now take those payments, and the credit is applied instantly to your HED electric account. Just have ready your account number, name on the account, or address. The Outage Line telephone number is (888) 472-5201.

There is still the availability of making your payment in our drop box at the business office, in-person at the office, via mail, online through the customer portal, as well as our app. If you don’t have the app, it is available in your app store, just search for Hardwick Electric Department and login with the same information as when logging into your account from our website. Our website has more information about how to download the app and get it up and running. Information about both your online portal account and the app is on our website at hardwickelectric.com/my-account/.

Payment Arrangement:

Also available September 1 is the ability for you to set up a payment arrangement on your account either through the customer portal, through the app, or by calling our Outage Line after hours. There are specific requirements which must be met before an account can have an arrangement. If for any reason your arrangement is not accepted, you can always call our office during regular business hours at (802) 472-5201.

Please be aware that beginning October 1, 2025 accounts disconnected for non-payment will not be reconnected until past due payment is received. HED employees dispatched to reconnect accounts will not be accepting on site payments of cash or checks. If a reconnect after hours is requested, payments can be made through the customer portal, on the app, or by calling our after hours Outage Line (888) 472-5201. Once payment is received, an HED employee will be dispatched to reconnect your service.

Last Friday, March 27th, our office was closed for half of the day so our staff could participate in a training regarding the AMI metering we are gearing up to adopt into our system later on this year. AMI is a system that allows utilities and customers to exchange energy and usage data in real time. Manual meters that have to be read physically will be replaced with AMI meters where data is transmitted back and forth between platforms. What does this mean for you as an HED customer? - Real time usage data - Ability to know exactly when your power is out and restored - No one having to come out to your property monthly and/or seasonally to read meters Stay tuned for more information as HED prepares to kick off AMI! ...
