⚡ PLANNED SYSTEM OUTAGE – CRAFTSBURY & GREENSBORO ⚡
Hardwick Electric Department will be conducting planned system work beginning at midnight on Thursday, October 8th, with the outage expected to continue until approximately 3:00 AM on Friday, October 9th.
The outage will impact the majority of Craftsbury customers and a small portion of Greensboro customers.
🔧 Why is this work necessary?
Our crews will be repairing and replacing wire and poles as part of ongoing system improvements. This work will help strengthen the electric system, improve reliability, and reduce the likelihood of future outages.
We understand that an overnight outage can be an inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience and understanding while our crews complete this important work.

Before You Call
Before reporting an outage:
- Check your breakers or fuses.
- See if neighboring homes have power.
- Stay away from downed power lines and report them immediately.
- If you see a downed line, assume it is energized and keep everyone away.

During an Outage
- Keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed.
- Use flashlights instead of candles whenever possible.
- Unplug sensitive electronics to protect them from power surges.
- If you use a generator, operate it outdoors and away from windows and doors.
Emergency Situations
Call 911 immediately if you observe:
- Downed power lines
- Electrical fires
- Smoke coming from electrical equipment
- Life-threatening emergencies
Never approach or touch a downed power line.
