💧 Major Progress on Our Pottersville Dam Mitigation Project![]()
We are pleased to share an important update with our ratepayers and community regarding the future of our hydroelectric generation facility. ![]()
Following the significant flooding our facility experienced in 2023 and again in 2024, even after substantial repairs had already been completed, we have been working with FEMA and the State of Vermont on long-term mitigation measures to improve the facility's resilience and flood proofing.![]()
The majority of our FEMA mitigation project has now been obligated, representing a significant milestone in moving this project forward.![]()
What comes next?![]()
We anticipate the design and permitting process will begin this winter, with bidding to follow in late winter or early spring. Construction is currently anticipated to take place throughout 2027, with some work potentially extending into early 2028.
The timeline will depend on the permitting and bidding processes, and we will continue to keep our customers informed as this project continues to move forward. ![]()
This project represents an important investment in the long-term reliability and resilience of our hydroelectric facility following the flooding events of the past several years.
